Our Client is an award-winning Trading company focusing on chemical fertilizers, headquartered in Singapore, with a strong presence across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
They are looking to hire an Operations Executive to support the day-to-day trading operations.
Reporting to: Head of Dept (Trading Manager)
Responsibilities
- Handle export/import documentation such as Letter of Credit (including bank negotiation), Bill of Lading, Insurance Certificates, and Certificate of Origin.
- Assist in the preparation, vetting, and signing of sales/purchase contracts and other trade/shipping paperwork.
- Coordinate with ship brokers, port inspectors, and logistics partners to ensure smooth vessel loading and discharging.
- Track vessel status and ensure shipments comply with contractual delivery schedules.
- Perform laytime calculations (Guidance will be provided)
- Monitor and follow up on payments with banks and counterparties.
- Liaise with overseas agents, consultants, trade partners, and authorities to resolve shipping or contract issues promptly.
- Maintain contract and shipment schedules and keep records neatly and accurately.
- Prepare regular reports for Management.
- Maintain a knowledge‑management database of updated international trade regulations, tariffs, duties, licenses, and restrictions.
- Support process improvements in workflow, efficiency, and internal controls.
- Answer operational/trade queries when Traders are unavailable.
- Support company events and internal activities (including annual company event in November).
- Any other tasks assigned to achieve organizational and team goals.

Requirements & Preferences
Must
- Bachelor's degree from a reputable university (Business, Economics, Supply Chain, etc.)
- At least 2 years' working experience in bulk shipment and trading operations within a Commodity Trading environment
- Hands‑on in LCs, Incoterms, shipping terms, and operational trade practices is required.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin (reading/writing/speaking/listening) to liaise with the English and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders, including the China office
- Able to work independently under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Willingness to commit and grow with the company long-term
