Role Overview
The South African Chamber of Commerce Singapore is a non-profit society in Singapore under the Registry of Societies.
We are seeking a dynamic and relationship-driven Part-Time Executive Director to oversee day-to-day operations, strengthen member engagement, and support the Chamber’s growing program of events and initiatives.
This role is ideal for an organised, people-oriented professional who can manage multiple responsibilities, communicate effectively, and represent the Chamber with professionalism and warmth.
This role will report to the Board of Directors with its primary function to perform key tasks necessary, that will ensure smooth operations of the South African Chamber of Commerce Singapore’s day to day activities.
The ideal candidate must have experience working with corporates and businesses in Singapore AND South Africa (Africa) and be fluent in English. Renumeration includes base Salary and commission-based incentives.
Key Responsibilities
A. Membership Management & Retention
- Conduct regular engagement with members to maintain satisfaction and retention.
- Manage membership renewals and ensure timely follow-ups.
- Oversee onboarding of new members to integrate them into Chamber activities and execute on membership benefits
- Maintain and update the Chamber’s CRM system.
B. New Member Acquisition
- Serve as the first point of contact for membership enquiries.
- Schedule introduction calls with potential leads and provide membership information.
- Support the preparation and sending of membership proposals.
- Manage administrative steps in the membership sales cycle.
C. Events Management & Logistics
- Plan, coordinate, and execute Chamber events in Singapore.
- Manage logistics including venues, suppliers, catering, and AV setup.
- Coordinate speaker communication andevent programming logistics.
- Oversee event registration, guest lists, and communications.
- Prepare event briefs, run sheets, and post-event reports.
D. Communications & Marketing Execution
- Draft and publish Chamber communications including newsletters, event invitations, and updates.
- Manage social media content creation and posting (primarily LinkedIn).
- Coordinate joint communications with partners and sponsors.
- Update website content and ensure consistent branding across platforms.
E. Administrative & Operational Support
- Schedule internal meetings with the Board and manage key documentation (agenda, minutes etc).
- Coordinate internal and external activities across the Chamber.
- Support invoicing and basic financial administration tasks.
- Ensure smooth day-to-day operations ofChamber activities.
- Improve internal work-flows and processes through automation and implementation.
Skills & Competencies
Required:
- Strong relationship management and communication skills.
- Organizational ability with excellent attention to detail.
- Good writing ability and confidence in preparing professional communications.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with MS Office, CRM systems, marketing platforms, and digital tools.
Preferred:
- Experience in business development, international trade and/or client-facing roles.
- Event coordination experience, including managing logistics end-to-end.
- Understanding of corporate, SME, and trade environments.
- Ability to create simple marketing materials or social media assets.
- Interest and knowledge of in SouthAfrica–Singapore business relations.
