A leading Japan-focused investment manager in Singapore is seeking a Japanese Equities Research Analyst. This role involves conducting in-depth research on Japanese companies, building financial models, and collaborating with Portfolio Managers. The ideal candidate has 1-4 years of experience, is fluent in Japanese and English, and holds a degree in a quantitative discipline. This position offers a chance to work closely with decision-makers in a flat, meritocratic culture that fosters career growth and independent thinking.
Location: Singapore
Representing: Leading Japan-Focused Investment Manager
Language Requirement: Business-level Japanese (JLPT N2 or above) and fluent English
We are partnering with a leading Japan-focused investment management firm renowned for its deep fundamental research and disciplined long-term approach to equity investing.
The team manages concentrated, high-conviction portfolios across mid to small-cap Japanese companies, identifying underappreciated value through on-the-ground insights, management engagement, and rigorous bottom-up analysis.
This opportunity is ideal for an analytically sharp, bilingual professional who wants to immerse themselves in the Japanese equity markets, develop direct relationships with company management teams, and contribute to active investment decisions within a buy-side environment.
As a Research Analyst, you’ll work directly with Portfolio Managers and Senior Analysts to identify and evaluate investment opportunities in the Japanese market. You will be involved across the full research process — from idea generation and financial modelling to valuation, monitoring, and thesis refinement.
This is a highly visible role within a flat and collaborative investment culture, providing an exceptional platform to develop deep sector expertise and grow into a decision-making position over time.
