We are seeking a technically strong and execution‑focused Engineering Manager to support the Service Technologies Lab in Singapore. This lab drives innovation in collaborative robotics, intelligent automation, and integrated hardware‑software systems. The Engineering Manager will lead engineering efforts across robotics and mechanical systems, ensuring robust application development and deployment.
Lead engineering teams focused on the design, development, and implementation of robotics and mechanical systems for service technologies
Translate strategic direction into actionable engineering plans and deliverables
Drive engineering excellence through structured development processes, design reviews, and quality assurance
Manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers across robotics, mechanical design, and systems integration
Oversee project timelines, resource planning, and execution to meet technical milestones
Hire and mentor experienced and junior engineers and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture
Develop and refine applications for collaborative robots (cobots), autonomous service routines, and intelligent platforms
Ensure seamless integration of mechanical and software components for scalable deployment
Apply best practices in prototyping, testing, and iterative development
Work closely with product, operations, and IT teams to align engineering output with business needs
Support partnerships with external collaborators including universities and startups for technology acceleration
Track KPIs and reporting mechanisms to measure progress and impact
Ensure system safety, accuracy, and repeatability through simulation and real‑world testing
Contribute to IP generation and documentation of engineering innovations
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field
7+ years of experience in automation, simulation engineering, or digital twin development
Knowledge of Python, C++, or similar languages used in automation and simulation scripting
Leverage ML/AI algorithms to enhance system capabilities
Exposure to CAD‑based modeling, sensor integration, and data‑driven simulation environments
Ability to interpret and simulate complex workflows involving equipment, personnel, and material handling
Participate in customer deployments and feedback loops to improve system robustness and scalability
Knowledge of simulation‑based ROI analysis and automation scoring frameworks
Experience working in or with teams across Asia and USA is a plus
Understanding of Semiconductor Equipment applications and Fab environments is a plus
Position requires understanding of Applied Materials global Standards of Business Conduct and compliance with these standards at all times. This includes demonstrating the highest level of ethical conduct reflecting Applied Materials' core values.
