A leading aerospace engineering firm in Singapore seeks a seasoned Technical Engineer to ensure regulatory compliance and lead product engineering efforts. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's in relevant engineering, extensive experience in aircraft maintenance, strong leadership skills, and knowledge of aviation regulations. The role involves coordinating engineering activities, mentoring staff, and optimizing processes to enhance operational efficiency.
•Ensure all engineering activities comply with Part 145 requirements, company procedures, and applicable aviation regulations.
•Develop and maintain engineering documentation (engineering notices, process sheets, work instructions etc) to ensure compliance with OEM standards and regulatory requirements.
•Work closely with Quality and Operations departments to ensure compliance and support to organization MOE with continued airworthiness requirements across engineering processes, repair substantiation, and in-house MRO capabilities (current and new).
•As the Technical focal (i.e. Nominated Personnel) to the regulators (EASA/CAAM/FAA/CAA) during audits, findings, and corrective actions phases.
•Review and advise compliance with Airworthiness Directives (ADs), OEM Service Bulletins (SBs), and continuing airworthiness data.
•Support Safety culture and ensure compliance with the organization’s Safety Management System (SMS).
•Support interdepartmental coordination for day-to-day engineering, production, and business needs to ensure daily operational needs are met while maintaining technical oversight and quality assurance.
•Spearhead new product capabilities development, technical solutions and manage existing product lifecycle.
•Provide technical guidance to maintenance teams on troubleshooting, defect rectification, and technical standards.
•Maintain and approve technical documents, drawings, engineering orders, repair instructions etc to support approved capabilities.
•Supervise the control, revision, and distribution of technical manuals and maintenance data; ensure completeness, accuracy, and integrity of technical data used in maintenance.
•Build and maintain strong working partnerships all stakeholders as well as Customers, OEMs, Contractors, and suppliers.
•Lead, mentor and develop the Engineering Department, ensuring appropriate resources competencies development.
•Evaluate technical publication changes and escalate discrepancies to OEMs, as required
•Review engineering investigations and product warranty assessment reports (CIR); oversee inhouse component reliability processes and programs and generate reliability reports as needed for key product lines.
•Analyse warranty failure trends and collaborate with relevant departments to initiate engineering actions that address customers’ needs and queries.
•Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure all fixtures, tooling, and product test equipment meet product specifications and OEM standards.
•Identify training roadmaps and competency assessments for engineers to ensure the department meets evolving needs. Identify, curate and conduct technical training (e.g. special processes) for maintenance teams.
•Manage engineering team KPIs and lead the development and submission of annual operating and project budgets.
•Support cost reduction initiatives through engineering optimization and process improvement.
•Drive future technical business needs and ad-hoc strategic projects as directed by management.
