Job description

Overview

Responsible to provide engineering & technical support for all process and mold related issues for new and existing products.

• Main technical window for new products and existing mass production parts
• Involvement in developing methodology for implementation of new and improved processes
• Evaluate molds and processes for continuous improvement programmes and develop implementation methodology while improving cost effectiveness of the same
• Technical training and development of engineering team
• Preparation of process related technical documentations like FMEA, evaluate processing parameters
• Work with continuous improvement teams to meet customer cost reduction goals.
• Trial new tooling and equipment and make modifications as needed to meet quality and production goals.
• Take customer engineering and design concepts or ideas and incorporate them into feasible design to fit facility/company manufacturing processes
• Use creative skills to assist in solving design or manufacturing issues or constraints
• Provide primary tooling, component and packaging cost inputs for quotation of new business
• Work closely with outside vendors in tooling, equipment, component and material development
• Work closely with customers in product, project or system development issues
• Keep up on latest industry standards, processes and procedures
• Participate in formal improvement team activities
• Support all department and organizational improvement initiatives to achieve business objectives
• Other tasks as assigned by Supervisor/Manager

Qualifications

• Diploma /Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Relevant field
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on working experience in injection molding with hands-on experience in scientific molding methods and experience in handling & troubleshooting of moulds preferred
• Good communications skills
• Independently carry out technical analysis of problems and implementation of solutions
• Lead a team of technicians and provide training where required
• Able to meet deadlines as per customer requirements
• Interaction with relevant persons in technical discussions
