Overview
Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Engineer. As an (EMS) Application Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support focused on customer quotations and business development case studies for various composite applications. Your primary responsibility will be to understand customer requirements and effectively demonstrate how composite-based solutions can meet those needs, including detailed proposals that cover costing, timelines, and resource allocation. You will need to travel to sites to deploy the necessary solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead Application Deployment: Oversee the implementation of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) ensuring alignment with customer specifications.
- Customer Technical Liaison: Act as the key technical contact for customers, leading discussions and clarifications on all technical matters. Work closely with the Project Manager to monitor engineering deliverables and maintain ongoing communication with team members, providing regular technical status updates.
- Engagement and Testing: Actively participate in customer meetings and prepare for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), ensuring that all testing aligns with customer expectations.
- Design Approval and Integration: Develop and secure customer approval for both basic and detailed designs of integrated solutions that comply with contractual requirements, optimizing the use of our Company’s product portfolio to maximize project efficacy and minimize technical risks.
- Engineering Documentation and Strategy Development: Produce essential engineering outputs, including system architecture, subsystem interface points, detailed point schedules, control panel drawings, equipment schedules, operation descriptions, database generation, graphics development, and system configuration.
- Master Project Technical Aspects: Gain expertise in all technical facets of the project lifecycle—design, integration, testing, FAT, installation, commissioning, and warranty. Validate that technical decisions adhere to design specifications and the Technical Design Process.
- Independent and Collaborative Work: Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with other team members for the success deliverance of the project that involves coordination across different services e.g. Electrical/Mechanical/Plumbing/Fire.
- Stakeholder Management: Effectively manage relationships with all stakeholders involved in project execution, ensuring alignment and successful delivery.
Travel to sites to deploy solutions is required where applicable.
Basic Skills / Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of EMS / Electrical/Mechanical/Plumbing/Fire.
- Ability to understand the EMS system design requirements which includes various building services, including chillers, heat exchangers, ACMV, lighting and power metering, etc.
- Proficient in Office Suite (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Building Automation Software and Apps platforms like EcoStruxure™ Building Operation Software, Distech Controls, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Moxa and so forth.
- Proficient in creating and editing mechanical and electrical drawings using AutoCAD and VISIO.
- Experience in programming Electronic DDC control systems / PLC Systems using Functional Block Diagrams.
- Knowledge of instrumentation sensors and field communication protocols, such as Modbus, BACnet, DNP3, etc.
- Ability to interpret and modify electrical diagrams and drawings.
- Understanding of TCP/IP Networking and protocols.
