Job Summary

Responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and optimizing electrical systems within process industries such as petrochemical plants, oil refineries, and manufacturing facilities. This role involves conducting system studies, preparing technical reports, and ensuring electrical infrastructure operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct electrical system studies including load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, motor starting studies, and harmonic analysis.
  • Analyze power distribution systems and identify areas for performance improvement and energy optimization.
  • Review and evaluate electrical single-line diagrams, schematics, and equipment specifications.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, feasibility studies, and recommendations for system upgrades or modifications.
  • Perform arc flash hazard analysis and coordinate protective device settings.
  • Monitor and assess electrical system reliability, power quality, and equipment health.
  • Support root cause analysis for electrical failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA).
  • Collaborate with design engineers, project teams, and operations to implement system improvements.
  • Assist in procurement by evaluating vendor proposals and technical submittals.
  • Support commissioning and troubleshooting activities for electrical systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, study results, and modifications.
  • Perform other functions as assigned by the Department Manager.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical system analysis within process or industrial environments.
Skill Requirements
  • Proficiency in electrical analysis software such as ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or DIgSILENT.
  • Strong knowledge of power systems, transformers, switchgear, motors, and protection relays.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical standards.
  • Good understanding of hazardous area classifications and safety requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
