Job description
Installation
  • Electrical systems: Install and assemble electrical components, wire and rewire systems, and program control systems for new elevators and escalators.
  • Mechanical components: Connect car frames and assemble elevator cars, as well as other machinery and equipment.
  • Blueprints: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand the equipment and installation plans.
Maintenance and Repair
  • Preventive maintenance: Perform routine servicing, including cleaning mechanical parts, oiling components, and inspecting safety devices.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs or replace faulty parts, such as wires, gears, and electrical components.
  • Safety checks: Conduct safety tests and adjust safety controls, brakes, and door mechanisms to ensure they meet safety standards.
  • Tuning: Tune variable frequency drives for lifts and escalators according to the code of practice.
Other Duties
  • Inspections: Conduct safety tests for official inspections, monitor work progress, and coordinate inspections before the handover of the equipment.
  • Record keeping: Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
  • Safety and compliance: Adhere to strict safety standards, conduct safety meetings, and stay current with advancements in technology and regulations.
  • Emergency response: Respond to emergency calls and make repairs quickly and efficiently.
  • Team collaboration: Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure work aligns with project timelines.
