Job summary

A leading hotel in Singapore is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the daily operations of the maintenance department. You will be responsible for ensuring the effective maintenance of various hotel equipment, assisting with small renovations, and maintaining safety standards. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, strong technical knowledge, and good communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in hotels or construction.
  • Strong technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily operation within the department.
  • Ensure maintenance of hotel equipment in good working condition.
  • Monitor service and maintenance of equipment and controls.

Job description
  • Assist the Maintenance Officer/Senior Duty Engineer in the daily operation within the department
  • Ensures the standard maintenance for the hotel’s different equipment is attended to, like plumbing, electrical appliances, locks, heating, air conditioning, bathroom fixtures, and all other related equipment, is in good working condition
  • Take on small renovation jobs such as painting, carpeting, furnishing, etc.
  • Be familiar with the operational duties and the services
  • Check the system or equipment for faults and follow up on the repair works if required
  • Ensure that all firefighting facilities and equipment are ready to use at all times
  • Monitor the service and maintenance of all equipment and controls
  • Follow up on preventive and corrective maintenance. To keep a record for proper control and efficiency
  • Maintain a daily log that records all work carried out in the hotels
  • Keep up to date on safety-related administrative documents
  • Ensures life and property safety
  • Ensure his/her safety and the safety of others during your interventions and those of the external service providers
  • Gives colleagues any help they require in terms of hotel maintenance
  • Strive to implement the Accor Vision and demonstrate active use of the Accor Values
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role. Preferably with experience in hotel, facilities, or construction maintenance
  • ITE/Nitec Certificate in Building Facilities Maintenance, Electrical / Electronics, and Air Conditioning servicing
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • A positive and helpful attitude towards work and colleagues
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to deal effectively with mechanics
