Position overview

The ideal candidate will have a willingness to grow, learn and work hard. Our department is growing and we are looking for a bilingual person who enjoys a fast-paced, professional, and dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities
  • The District Trainer coordinates the district’s training program and supports the training and development needs of the district, acting as an expert resource for district and employee-specific training plans.
  • Supports District Onboarding Program: Works closely with management teams to offer the best onboarding experience to new hires, including presenting the employee with an onboarding plan on their first day. Ensures that new hires progress through general and role-specific new hire training in a timely manner.
  • Manages District Training Program: Implements a robust training program for the district that meets employee and district training needs. Coordinates the district’s training schedule, delivers District Trainer-led courses, and ensures timely record keeping of internal and external training. Assists management teams with creating and managing employee-training plans and develops training materials to meet local training needs. Manages district compliance with training requirements including annually required training, NEO training, 52 hours training, OPA-required training, and dangerous goods expiration dates. Proficient in all learning functions of the PDC, acting as a PDC expert for the district.
  • Supports Employee Performance Cycle: Assists management teams with the mechanics of conducting 1:1s and employee performance evaluations in the PDC. Monitors timely completion of employee performance evaluations and 1:1s according to Expeditors and local requirements and directs managers to performance reporting in the PDC.
  • Supports Employee Growth: Assists employees and managers with setting relevant professional and/or career development goals in the PDC. Actively promotes employee growth in the district, helping to identify training and development opportunities for employees.
  • District Trainer Job-Specific Tasks and Duties: Create onboarding plans; Build monthly training calendar; Consult on training plans; Monitor training completions; Monitor evaluation and 1:1 completion; Support employees and managers with PDC and training & development tools.
  • Exceptional Customer Service: Exceeds customer expectations by anticipating, understanding, and meeting needs; is proactive, timely, and resolute in solving problems, including escalating to management when necessary. Builds rapport and exhibits empathy during interactions; consistently strives to improve customer satisfaction with customers and service providers, both externally and internally.
