Job Summary:

Based in Singapore, the Director, Corporate M&A will take on responsibility for diverse M&A transactions and play an active role in shaping the Group's strategic development. Asia represents a key pillar of our client's growth strategy backed by dedicated resources and will be the primary geographic focus of this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Boost growth through acquisitions and partnerships in the Asean markets, with your office based at regional headquarters in Singapore.
  • Lead projects or sub-projects covering acquisitions, divestments, and joint venture formations in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Manage the full M&A life cycle, including:
  • Steering internal and external teams (e.g., investment banks) and management of interdependencies and relationships
  • Deal origination / pipeline generation and assessment of strategic fit
  • Analysis of business plans and preparation of company valuations
  • Leading due diligence processes
  • Structuring the transaction while assessing and mitigating risks
  • Negotiating contractual terms through to successful closing
  • Supporting PMI preparation work and handover to operational units
  • Represent Group within APAC investment banking and advisory network.
  • Contribute to strategic projects at Group and business area level, such as market entry strategies.
  • Prepare decision-making materials for the Executive Board.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
  • Degree in business administration, engineering, or natural sciences with strong technical affinity; ideally complemented by an MBA or PhD or CFA as well as international experience.
Experience:
  • At least six years of professional experience gained from investment banking (bulge bracket or leading boutique) or private equity / larger family offices, first corporate experience appreciated.
  • Proven track record of successfully completed transactions (please outline in your application).
  • Strong sourcing network into APAC investment banks and boutiques, ownership circles, advisors etc. and ability to build (professional) relationship.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and creative problem-solving skills to make the deal happen while acknowledging and leveraging the power of team.
  • Excellent analytical and methodological foundation (e.g. financial modelling, M&A process) combined with a hands-on mentality.
  • Strong communication skills and professional presence, in particular ability to present complex topics in a clear and audience-oriented manner.
  • High level of energy and commitment, flexibility and adaptability to navigate through fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel regularly.
Sector Experience:
  • Industry knowledge in mechanical engineering and software is a plus.
  • Well-connected within the investment banking sector in Asia.
Skills:
  • Excellent command of Microsoft 365 (especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and CapitalIQ
  • Business-fluent English (written and spoken) and native-level proficiency in an Asian language (e.g., Mandarin or Hindi); additional languages such as German are an advantage.
