About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Director / Assistant Director / Senior Manager to lead the Finance department of the Gain City group of companies.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving the financial health and performance of the group through robust financial planning, effective cost management and timely reporting. You will oversee the budgeting and forecasting process, ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and maintain strong internal controls across all financial operations. Beyond these, you will guide investment decisions, evaluate business performance and support long-term growth strategies. You will also lead initiatives to streamline processes, leveraging technology and data to enhance financial transparency and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review existing processes and organisational structures to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, automation and enhanced business partnering
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across financial systems, reporting tools and operational processes to improve efficiency, accuracy and scalability
  • Deliver timely and actionable financial analysis and insights to support decision-making
  • Develop, track and interpret key financial and operational metrics to enable proactive management of business performance
  • Evaluate commercial opportunities, support margin improvement strategies and ensure alignment with financial performance targets
  • Ensure the adoption of best practices and maintain a forward-looking and data-driven approach
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to align financial strategies with overall corporate objectives

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, including FP&A and financial control
  • Proven leadership experience, with a strong track record of building and developing high-performing finance teams
  • In-depth knowledge of SFRS, tax regulations and statutory compliance
  • Demonstrated success in driving process improvements
  • Strong experience in cost management and leading efficiency initiatives
  • Hands-on experience with financial and ERP systems, including accounting, inventory management and payroll platforms
  • Experience in multi-site retail, e-commerce or FMCG sectors is advantageous
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives
