A leading cloud technology company is seeking a Datacenter Engineering Design Manager in Singapore. The successful candidate will manage engineering scope, schedule, and budget for design projects, while coordinating teams of architects and engineers. Strong communication, leadership, and technical skills in datacenter design are essential. The role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects that drive cloud infrastructure growth. Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO&I, the Datacenter Engineering (DCE) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft's cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large-scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. The Datacenter Engineering Design Manager will manage the engineering scope, schedule, and budget for greenfield, brownfield, and retrofit engineering/design projects. This specific position will manage internal and external resources for the delivery of the datacenter building, power, cooling, telecom, and controls infrastructure to align with Microsoft Corporation datacenter capacity roadmap for the APAC region.
The Datacenter Design Manager will be responsible for the facilitation and delivery of Microsoft's industry-leading datacenter designs including the development of innovative technology and advanced concepts from Site Due Diligence through design development, permitting, construction, and the turnover to Operations. This role will provide design management, technical direction, decision-making and overall leadership for our datacenter designs. To be successful in this role the candidate will oversee the delivery of multiple, concurrent, complete datacenter design solutions aligned with the scopes, schedules, and budgets of the projects. The Design Manager will engage with key MS stakeholder groups within Microsoft as well as outside vendors who specialize in datacenter architecture and engineering.
