· 5 Days (Mon, Tue, Thur & Fri: 9.00am to 6.30pm; Wed: 9.00am to 6.00pm)

· Lunch: 1 hour

Offered Salary

  • Up to S$3,000 per month (Depending on qualifications & experience and subject to client’s approval)

Requirements, Skills and Experience Level

· Minimally an A-level or Polytechnic graduate

  • Experience in data governance principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with data regulations and related enforcement and audits.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and manage stakeholders effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various teams, including legal, IT, analysts, and business and data owners.
  • Demonstrated potential for leadership and team management skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation and processes.
  • Basic analytical skills to understand and interpret data-related issues will be an advantage.

Job Description

Overview:

DPSE will work closely with the team and stakeholders to:

· Develop and implement robust data management and governance structures to ensure data integrity and security.

· Strike a balance between data governance, security, and management, while promoting data discoverability and utilisation within the organisation.

· Define and uphold data quality standards and best practices in handling data, ensuring our data is accurate, reliable, and accessible.

· Establish comprehensive data documentation practices to maintain consistency, clarity and accessibility of data across the organisation.

· Ensure compliance with data governance policies, safeguarding our data assets and supporting our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement data management and governance strategies that align with government policies and standards.
  2. Formulate plans to harmonise Customs' data schema and metadata catalog and lead efforts to acquire and maintain high-quality data efficiently and effectively.
  3. Develop structures, documentation, and processes to enhance the discoverability and comprehension of data within Customs and across the Whole of Government (WOG).
  4. Facilitate secure data-sharing within Customs and with other organisations, while managing residual risks related to data security.
  5. Provide guidance to data users on data documentation practices and ensure adherence to data governance policies during data acquisitions.
  6. Assist in resolving data governance issues in analytic projects and help our data users navigate data governance frameworks.
  7. Work closely with data engineers to ensure data management processes comply with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  8. In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate a high level of expertise and commitment to maintaining data integrity and security, while fostering an environment of innovation and efficiency. Your contributions will be vital in supporting the mission of Singapore Customs and enhancing data practices across the organisation.
