Job summary

A counseling service provider in Singapore is seeking a qualified therapist to offer support focused on sexuality, gender, and emotional trauma. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, leading programs, and collaborating with various stakeholders. Candidates should have a Master’s degree and strong skills in trauma-informed care. Experience with youths or community settings is an advantage. Proficiency in English and additional languages is highly regarded.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Counselling, Psychology or a related field.
  • Preferred 3 years or below of clinical counselling experience.
  • Strong foundation in trauma-informed care and human sexuality.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with local psychological societies.
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic support to individuals, families, and youth, with a special focus on issues to do with sexuality, gender, problematic or compulsive sexual desires and/or behaviour, and emotional, developmental, and sexual trauma.
  • Work with a significant percentage of male clients.
  • Conduct intake assessments, risk evaluations, and develop personalised intervention plans.
  • Lead group programs, psychoeducation sessions, and outreach initiatives on human sexuality and relationship health.
  • Collaborate with schools, parents, and community organisations.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential case documentation and participate in clinical supervision.
  • Support research, program development, and grant reporting as needed.
Candidate Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Counselling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Preferred 3 years n below of clinical counselling experience; fresh candidates will also be considered.
  • Strong foundation in trauma-informed care, family systems, and human sexuality.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with Singapore Psychological Society (for psychologists) and Singapore Association for Counselling (for counsellors)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience with youth, families, or community/faith-based settings is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in English; ability to communicate in additional languages (Mandarin, Malay, Tamil, dialects) is a plus.
