Job Summary
Responsible for ensuring accurate charging for R&D / PreProduction activities, monitoring R&D / PreProduction material on hand, ensuring accurate valuation of Production material on hand and preparing financial reports in relation to costing. To ensure compliance with accounting standards, improve efficiency, control costs, and make informed business decisions.
Job Scope
Cost Analysis and Reporting
- Analyse R&D / PreProduction material movement for correct expense charge and consumption
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various business partners to resolve material receiving, PO charging or aged goods received not invoiced issues
- Perform R&D / PreProduction item costing and cost roll up in ERP
- Support transition from R&D / PreProduction phase to Production Phase costing activities, including item cost, work definition roll up and revaluation impact analysis
- Perform regular reconciliations to ensure the accurate valuation of Production costing activities
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, including R&D / PreProduction costing and expense reporting
- Perform New Product Introduction (NPI) standard costing functions in the ERP
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various business partners to resolve inventory standard costing issues related to missing or incorrect cost definition setup
- Provide standard cost revaluation impact analysis for Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- Analyze Work in Process (WIP) and make adjustments as needed
- Perform monthly review of intercompany trade accounts
- Perform monthly and quarterly financial closing activities including journal entries and reconciliations in relation to costing (including and not limited to R&D PreProd expenses & inventories, production costing and perpetual inventories, R&D used tax, sales giveaways, E&O, warranty, deferred COGS)
Inventory Management
- Manage and reconcile R&D / PreProduction material records with physical counts.
- Assist in reconciliation perpetual inventory records with physical counts
Financial Support
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Explain monthly balance sheet fluctuations to ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies
Process Improvement
- Identify and recommend opportunities for cost reduction and process efficiency
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and timely data collection
Job Requirement
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification
- Proven experience as a Cost Accountant or in a similar role
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Must be able to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

- Contract duration: 6-month contract
- Commencement Date: Dec 2025 to Jul 2026
- Working days and hours: Mon to Friday, 9am to 6pm
