Overview

Contracts Manager (Construction) – This role leads the contracts function on-site, overseeing all contractual matters across main contracts, subcontractors and suppliers to safeguard project and company interests. It also encompasses contract preparation, variation and claims management, procurement oversight, progress payments and compliance with legal and regulatory standards. The incumbent will also provide strategic contractual advice, resolve disputes and ensure strong stakeholder engagement with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the contracts team and support Project Directors/Managers in all contractual matters.
  • Manage contracts with main contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, including preparation and review of agreements, variation orders (VO) and EOT (extension of time) claims.
  • Oversee cost control, procurement schedules, progress payments and final account settlements.
  • Resolve disputes, variation claims and develop strategies for effective EOT management.
  • Provide contractual advice, ensure regulatory compliance and liaise with clients, consultants and regulatory authorities to safeguard project interests.
Prerequisites
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management / Civil Engineering &/ Building related fields.
  • Min 10 years experience in contract administration of which 8 years in a supervisory role leading Quantity Surveyors.
  • Strong knowledge of construction/contract law and standard forms of contract (PSSCOC, SIA, LTA, REDAS, FIDIC, NEC, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills with integrity and a results-driven mindset.
