A leading construction firm in Singapore is looking for a Construction Manager to oversee project planning, site management, and budget control. As the primary liaison between clients and contractors, you will ensure compliance with safety standards and quality assurance procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a proven track record in construction management. This role is pivotal to successful project executions, making sure all stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the construction phases.
Develop project plans, schedules, and work breakdown structures.
Participate in feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and constructability reviews.
Prepare budgets, cost estimates, and resource plans.
Review and interpret architectural and engineering designs.
Assist in permitting, approvals, and regulatory compliance before construction begins.
Oversee day-to-day site operations and ensure work is carried out according to plans.
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site workforce.
Ensure safety protocols are followed and conduct regular safety meetings.
Inspect work quality and verify materials delivered on-site meet specifications.
Resolve on-site issues, delays, and technical problems.
Act as the main liaison between clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities.
Conduct coordination meetings and prepare progress reports.
Communicate project updates, risks, and solutions to stakeholders.
Ensure all parties follow agreed schedules and deliverables.
Track and control project expenses against budget.
Review, negotiate, and approve change orders and variations.
Optimize resource allocation (labor, materials, equipment) to avoid waste.
Verify invoices, progress claims, and contractor payments.
Implement QA/QC procedures and ensure adherence to design specifications.
Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
Ensure compliance with building codes, industry standards, and local regulations.
Address defects and manage rectification or remedial works.
Identify potential risks (schedule, cost, safety, technical).
Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
Monitor and resolve safety hazards or construction challenges quickly.
Maintain accurate records: daily reports, site diaries, RFI logs, inspection reports.
Manage project documentation and drawings, ensuring version control.
Provide regular progress reports to clients and management.
Oversee final inspections, testing, and commissioning.
Ensure delivery of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and warranties.
Manage defect liability period (DLP) activities.
Facilitate handover to the client and ensure all contractual requirements are met.
