Job Description & Requirements
We are seeking a Civil Design Engineer with expertise in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects to support the design and execution of industrial, oil & gas, and process plant environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for engineering design, project coordination, and ensuring compliance with Singapore Standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design
- Develop detailed engineering design packages, including calculations, specifications, and drawings for civil, structural, and building works.
- Perform structural analysis and design using StaadPro for foundations, steel, and concrete structures, piling, pits, roads, drains, and related infrastructure.
- Prepare 3D models and technical drawings using AutoCAD or relevant BIM software for process plant structures, equipment foundations, and pipe racks.
- Conduct design reviews to ensure compliance with Singapore Building Codes, Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) regulations, and industry best practices.
Proposal & Bidding Support
- Assist in preparing EPC Project proposals, including:
- Scope of Civil and Structural Works
- Preliminary Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
- Bidding documents for civil, structural, and building works
- Technical bid evaluations for contractor selection
Project Coordination & Execution
- Work closely with multi‑disciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, piping) to ensure design integration within EPC project requirements.
- Support procurement and construction teams in material selection, design feasibility, and adherence to project schedules.
- Review contractor submissions, method statements, and shop drawings for compliance with project specifications.
- Provide technical support during construction to resolve engineering challenges and ensure structural integrity.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with MOM regulations and the workplace safety & health (WSH) Act.
- Ensure designs meet local statutory requirements, including Building & Construction Authority (BCA) regulations and Professional Engineers Board (PEB) standards.
- Participate in design risk assessments and safety studies related to civil and structural works.
Requirements
- Recognized Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in EPC projects, preferably in the oil & gas petrochemical, or industrial sectors.
- Proficiency in StaaPro, AutoCAD, and BIM software for structural analysis and design.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore Standard (SS), Eurocodes, and international engineering codes (ASCE, AISC, BS, API 650, etc.).
- Ability to work in a multi‑disciplinary project environment, ensuring smooth coordination between engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
