Job description
Core responsibilities
  • Curriculum and instruction: Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that cover key areas like language, numeracy, creative arts, and social skills. Use play-based learning, storytelling, and other instructional techniques to teach children.
  • Child supervision and care: Ensure the safety and well‑being of children at all times. Provide for basic needs like feeding, and manage routines such as naps and playtime.
  • Child development: Monitor children's emotional, social, and cognitive development. Help children build self‑confidence, learn social skills like sharing and cooperation, and resolve conflicts.
  • Classroom management: Establish and enforce classroom rules and maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating learning environment.
Collaboration and communication
  • Parent and family engagement: Build positive relationships with parents and families, communicate regularly about their child's progress and behavior, and involve them in the learning process.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other teachers and staff to share best practices, plan projects, and contribute to the center's overall goals.
Professionalism and compliance
  • Professional development: Engage in continuous learning and reflective practices to improve teaching skills and stay current with early childhood education best practices.
  • Health and safety: Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and standards.
  • Record‑keeping: Keep records of children's progress, routines, and interests, and prepare reports for parents.
Qualifications
