Job summary

A waste management service provider in Singapore is seeking a Chemical Engineer specializing in solvent recovery. The candidate will supervise repacking operations, manage costs through budget monitoring, and ensure plant reliability via regular inspections and preventive maintenance. Additionally, the role involves leading EHS and ISO compliance programs and collaborating with lab chemists to develop waste handling methods. Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field and at least 2 years of relevant experience.   • Working Location: Tuas (Company transport provided)
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday (8am – 5pm)
  • Salary Package: Basic Salary + Transport Allowance + Retention Bonus + AWS + Quarterly Incentive
  • Duration: Permanent
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise Repacking/Containment/ICW operations and maintenance, ensuring safe TIW process flow, controlled backlog, and smooth coordination with Operations/Sales/Customer Service to maintain service quality.
  • Manage costs and performance by monitoring the containment purchase budget (including reuse/recycling), reviewing workflows for throughput and cost effectiveness, driving continuous improvement, and preparing/analyzing daily, monthly, and annual operational reports and budgets with corrective follow-ups.
  • Ensure plant reliability and standards through regular inspections, 5S/TPM oversight, machinery/equipment condition monitoring, and developing/implementing preventive maintenance schedules with Operations/Engineering.
  • Lead EHS and ISO programs: conduct toolbox meetings and PPE checks, deliver training (MSDS, PPE, risk assessments, safe handling), maintain ISO 45001 compliance and housekeeping, develop ISO documents (SOP/RA/MOC/SWP), perform internal audits, and manage emergency response/drills for spills and fires.
  • Collaborate with lab chemists to evaluate and develop treatment/handling methods for new or unknown wastes, review operating costs, and provide updates to management.
  • Any ad-hoc duties assigned.
