A local restaurant is seeking a dedicated Chef responsible for preparing and cooking dishes according to menu standards and quality. The job includes ensuring food safety compliance, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and supporting daily kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will work closely with the team to ensure consistency in quality and presentation, while minimizing waste. The role also involves assisting in inventory management and coordinating with kitchen staff.
The Chef is responsible for preparing and cooking food according to the restaurant’s menu and quality standards, ensuring food safety compliance, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and supporting smooth kitchen operations.
Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to standard recipes and portion sizes.
Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all food items.
Handle food preparation including cutting, marinating, and cooking using appropriate methods.
Plan daily mise-en-place and coordinate cooking schedules.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations.
Follow FIFO principles for food storage and stock rotation.
Comply with SFA/NEA food hygiene and safety regulations.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of food ingredients.
Maintain personal hygiene and enforce kitchen sanitation standards.
Assist in stock checking and reporting low inventory to management.
Minimize food wastage and control portion costs.
Support receiving and proper storage of supplies.
Work closely with other chefs and kitchen assistants.
Guide junior kitchen staff when required.
Follow instructions from Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
