The Canteen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the canteen, ensuring a high standard of food service, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, managing staff, and handling inventory.

Key Responsibilities:
Staff Management
  • Supervise and schedule canteen staff, ensuring that the team is well-trained and motivated.
  • Conduct regular staff performance reviews and provide feedback.
  • Ensure all canteen staff adhere to health and safety regulations and hygiene standards.
Food Service Operations
  • Oversee the preparation and serving of food, ensuring timely delivery and quality service.
  • Ensure that food is stored, prepared, and served in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner.
Inventory Management
  • Order and manage food and beverage supplies, maintaining optimal stock levels.
  • Perform regular stock checks to ensure sufficient inventory and minimize waste.
  • Ensure the proper storage and rotation of food items according to established standards.
Customer Service
  • Ensure a high standard of customer service at all times, responding to customer feedback and resolving issues promptly.
  • Promote a welcoming and positive atmosphere for customers.
Menu Planning
  • Work with management or relevant teams to plan daily menus.
  • Ensure that the menu offers variety and meets the dietary requirements of all customers.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in hospitality, food safety, or management preferred.
  • Previous experience working in food service or hospitality, ideally with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, health and safety standards, and customer service.
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage staff and operations effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with customers, staff, and management.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic knowledge of financial management, including budgeting and inventory control.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items (up to 30 pounds).
