BR_Test_VP / AVP, DevOps Architect, Group Technology and Operations (2500002Q)

DBS’ Group Technology and Operations (T&O) empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure that focuses on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. We manage most of the bank's operational processes and aim to delight our business partners through multiple banking delivery channels.
Join us on an exciting journey as we build our Core Architect and DevOps teams for solutions and design a high-performance banking platform and applications. We also govern and operate Cloud platforms, developing common frameworks and services for CST (e.g. UI Framework, Workflow Framework, Rule Engine, etc.).
As a DevOps Architect with Asia’s best bank, you are responsible for:
- End-to-end solution and design of platform and application solutions. Ensure the applications are scalable, stable and extensible
- Designing developing application frameworks using Java Programming language, Java Script and related approved software technologies
- Executing software design and development from concept to testing phases for these frameworks
- Performing research, development and proof-of-concept (POC) on new technologies and development approaches. Taking part in the evaluation of software packages
- Mentoring and training of the application team.
- Maintenance of the solutions, frameworks, documents
Reaching customers in pivotal new ways, your job might look like this in a typical week:
- Provide solutions of new applications, frameworks and services
- Govern the architecture design and software solution stack for CST. Ensure application team design and develop application in accordance with approved solution, framework and software stack
- Guide and align development teams within the core system technology department on using application frameworks, services and approved architecture design
- Perform proof-of-concept (POC) on new technologies and approaches with the support of Infra, application team and vendor
- Take part in evaluation and projects with vendors as well as the bank’s business analysts and end users to understand business needs. Feedback to Head Architect and management for positioning and long-term strategy planning
With a rich background in software design and development, you have:
- 10 to 15+ years of software design and development experience
- 8+ years of Core Java 6 experience. Outstanding knowledge of Spring Framework
- 8+ years hands-on Java multithreading, distributed architectures in a professional environment
- Experience in PCF installation and Development? You will be considered for PCF Ops function and delivery
- An understanding of CI/CD and can detail its implementation and role in Agile Delivery
- Experience in multiple types of Database Maria, MySql, Oracle and MS Sqlserver. You will have been trained or have worked as DBA in at least one database
- Good knowledge in at least one of these banking areas:
- Credit and Risk: Origination and MIS
- Finance
- Core Bank: Customer Information systems, Savings/Current, Fixed Deposits, Loans, Wealth Management
- Knowledge in .Net, Websphere, WebLogic etc, which is an advantage. An understanding of these is helpful in the migration to the Cloud platform
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science (or equivalent experience)
You must have these technical skills too:
- Experience with some of the following:
- Angular JS
- Spring Framework
- MongoDB/Maria
- Cloud Foundry
- Docker
- Activiti
- Experience with SVN, GIT, Artifactory, JIRA, Confluence
- Integrated Development Environment (Eclipse/Intellj preferred)
- Good working knowledge of Linux/Windows
- Proven participation in the design and delivery of application solutions with infrastructure
- Strong experience in agile methodologies and test driven development
- Experience in designing and developing PaaS-ready applications
- Experience in developing service-based applications
- Excellent knowledge and experience in design patterns

- Fluent in written and spoken English, with good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in MS Office and Powerpoint, and can produce board-level documentation
- Able to travel. You may be required to travel to multiple locations
- A team player as well as a self-starter who sets and meets challenging personal targets
- Customer-oriented.
