Job description

Competency Specialist (Trainings) will work with the Life Cycle Services Team to support programmes and deliver technical trainings to internal employees.

The Life Cycle Services Team focuses on developing people through technical skill upgrades and talent development programmes.

The major measurement for this role is to deliver technical training courses on Rockwell Automation technologies and support the training manager in managing and providing programmes and competency development of employees across the Asia Pacific Life Cycle Services Team.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Technical training delivery for employees at the Singapore Training Facility.
  • Technical training delivery for AP LCS employees when no regular training programmes are available.
  • Coordinate with the Global RAU team on scheduling, managing the training calendar and programmes for AP LCS.
  • Support the training manager in program execution (EIT, JIT & Intern).
  • Organise labour resources to deliver technical, soft‑skill and functional trainings in programmes and regular training in the AP LCS organisation.
  • Encourage a learning culture in the region: collect learning plans from sub‑regions, plan training courses/programmes (PLAN), organise delivery (TRAIN) and update Power BI reports with learning data (MEASURE).
  • Work with AP LCS leaders on learning progress and support the training manager to lead the learning culture.
  • Administer and maintain the training facility in Singapore: upkeep workstations, manage assets, evaluate inventory and organise repair/replacement of failed parts.
  • Coordinate with Logistics to arrange visa/hotel accommodation for participants travelling abroad for training.
  • Identify productivity improvements and support new projects.
  • Understand the organisation’s competency framework and support management programmes.
  • Collaborate with the Global RAU (North America) team to implement globally recommended training modules/courses in the region.
  • Provide input for updating current material and developing new training curriculum to improve delivery and competency programmes in AP.
  • Support tasks related to training and competency development.

The Essentials – You Will Have
  • Very good knowledge of Rockwell Automation products & technology (automation & software).
  • Understanding of industrial environments and how automation products are applied.
  • Strong technical knowledge and knowledge‑sharing skills on automation, drives and software products.
  • Experience with the following products is an advantage:
    • Logix Platform (Control/Compact/Micro Logix series)
    • FT View ME & SE
    • Guard Logix Safety Systems
    • Powerflex 75x Series
    • Kinetix Series
    • PlantPAx
    • Networks (EtherNet/ControlNet) communication, configuration & troubleshooting
    • Advanced EtherNet (Layer‑2,3 Switch configuration, NAT & network architecture)
    • Advanced software (e.g. Historian, FT Optix)
  • Ability to correlate theoretical subjects with practical industrial information.
The Preferred – You Might Also Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science with a minimum of 7+ years of work experience in industrial automation (projects, services or training delivery).
  • Collaboration with teams and colleagues across Asia Pacific and adaptability to change.
  • Excellent advocacy skills.
  • Passion for training delivery and composure during delivery.
  • Coaching and mentoring new joiners, participants and junior staff.
