We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Automation Engineer to join our team. You will play a critical role in supporting automation systems across key rail infrastructure, including signaling, SCADA, and control systems. The role requires hands‑on technical expertise, compliance with LTA (Land Transport Authority) standards, and coordination with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that PLC and SCADA system equipment are tested and commissioned in accordance with design drawings, testing procedures, safety measures, and QA/QC systems.
- Manage PLC Testing & Commissioning activities, including Integration, Validation, SAT (Site Acceptance Testing), and ITC (Integrated Test Commissioning).
- Collaborate with signaling and communication teams for integration of automated systems across MRT and LRT networks.
- Review and implement LTA standards and regulations, ensuring system compliance with local safety and operational requirements.
- Perform site supervision during installation, testing, and commissioning of automation and control systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in automation components.
- Prepare technical documentations.
- Implement and manage communication protocols such as Profibus DP, Ethernet, Modbus RS485, TCP/IP, and IEC61850.
- Conduct point‑to‑point tests with substation electrical equipment and SCADA interfaces, ensuring compliance with testing procedures.
- Manage team staff, prepare work schedules, and assign specific duties. Coordinate activities with clients and external interface parties (Subsystem Work Contractors).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, or a related field.
- 2-3+ years of experience in automation or control engineering, preferably within the rail or transportation sector.
- Knowledge of SCADA, PLC (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, Mitsubishi), and HMI systems.
- Familiarity with railway standards such as EN 50126, EN 50128, IEC 61508 and experience with various communication protocols.
- Experience with LTA projects or similar public transport infrastructure is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of communication protocols (Modbus, TCP/IP, OPC, Profibus, etc.).
- Proficient in preparing design and test documentation. Configuring automation systems, particularly Siemens and Allen Bradley platforms.
- Strong communication and written communication skills, Interpersonal skills; ability to work in a multicultural, fast‑paced environment and to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with MRT/LRT systems in Singapore.
- LTA project experience (e.g., CRL, DTSS, or TEL).
