Qualifications

Job Description

To champion mental wellness programmes and outreach activities with stakeholders to promote self-help strategies, help-seeking and community support in the student community. To provide support for students who approach the Student Wellness (SW) team, students who require support and attention, and students undergoing disciplinary or rehabilitation processes.

Responsibilities
  • Case Management
    • Serve as Case Manager to support students undergoing disciplinary and rehabilitation processes.
    • Serve as Case Manager to help students to negotiate academic or personal issues who may also require assistance from mental health professionals and other stakeholders.
    • Serve as Student Wellness Manager to assist Faculties / Schools to promote mental wellbeing and support students with mental health concerns.
  • Outreach
    • Plan and administer roadshows and talks at large-scale events on campus to increase students' awareness of SW, university wellness support resources, stress coping methods, help-seeking, helping behaviours and mental health stigma.
    • Collaborate with Faculties, Hostels and student organisations to organise mental wellness programmes (online and face-to-face) for students.
    • Produce a variety of social media and online wellness resource materials for students.
  • Training and Facilitation
    • Plan, administer and facilitate wellness, mental health literacy programmes to raise students' awareness in stress management, mental health conditions and basic helping skills. The programmes include academic non-graded modules and also continuous skills development for the peer student supporters.
    • Guide and mentor students or student groups in mental health advocacy or wellness projects.
    • Assist and coordinate with Faculties in the organisation of wellness and mental health programmes by external training vendors.
  • Engagement with Faculties / School and Academic Units
    • Work with academic stakeholders to bridge the academic support needed by students e.g. academic mentorship, academic advising programme, setting expectations of academic requirements at the start of semester, study strategies and tips etc.
    • Organise mental health literacy workshops for interested faculty and admin staff to help them recognise early signs of mental health concerns and ways to support students.
  • Engagement with Peer Student Supporters (PSS)
    • Assist in the recruitment, training, management or supervision of PSS in operating PitStops in NUS Campus.
    • Work with Faculties to set up PSS programmes.
  • Participation in Working Committees and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A recognised Bachelor's or Post-graduate degree in Social Work, Counselling, or Psychology.
  • At least 2 years of case management, preferably with youths or young adults.
  • Experience in training and facilitation of mental health-related workshops will be advantageous.
  • Resourceful with good organisational and planning skills.
  • Able to work in a team and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Social media and IT savvy with basic designing skills (Canva etc.).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
