Job description
Overall Purpose of Job
  • Managing and preparation of cost estimation and commercial proposal including contractual obligation require by tender process
  • Procurement and subcontract management for ongoing projects. This involves selecting the right vendors, negotiating favourable terms, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials and services.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit cost estimation based on tender specification for approval. This includes liaising with equipment suppliers and when necessary, work closely with Engineering Design Centre/ designers to ensure suppliers’ scope of supply and specifications for equipment fulfil requirements of specifications
  • Have a good overview and understanding of the business and be aware of the changes in the market (such as that of the shipping environment, oil prices affecting offshore market or action by competitors) and ensuring changes are made to company strategy to adapt to the changes in the business environment.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for product/ solution with defined scope
  • Drive sales success with existing and new clients throughout sales and execution process, including and not limited to; identify client, develop solution, work with internal stake holders to provide specification and commercial proposal, negotiate contract, manage client relationship, and ensure positive and sticky strategic partner future opportunities
  • Work with internal business leaders to effectively report on marketing and business development activities and communicate strategies, justify development expenditure products/ solutions, and ensure positive results of projects
  • Develop opportunity pipeline for defined scope, and assist internal teams to effectively forecast success
  • Identify and assist to implement continuous improvement strategies to maximise overall company success
Requirements
  • Preferably a degree in Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture
  • Experience in both Commercial and Marketing.
  • Preferably more than 6 years of experience in the marine industry with good network of customers worldwide.
  • Knowledge in commercial and marketing relating to the marine industry
  • Be comfortable with self-sufficient travel in globally distributed locations
  • An appreciation of developing concepts/ ideas into commercial products/ solutions and executing a related sales opportunity.
  • Self- motivated and ability to manage multiple opportunities and projects concurrently
  • Critical attention to detail, and be success driven
  • Outgoing personality and the ability to articulate ideas clearly, communicate and market concepts and listen
  • High attention to personal presentation and ability to converse in a professional manner
  • Ability to travel at short notice
  • Global travel required
