Job Description

The successful candidate will perform a variety of functions related to research, including but not limited to the following:

• Lead and direct a team of researchers to conduct high quality scientific research.
• Plan, conduct and disseminate research findings through journal articles.
• Write and review research papers, present research outcomes, conceptualise new ideas and develop plans for independent research which could have a considerable influence and impact on the relevant field attracting research funding.
• Apply qualitative and quantitative research techniques which include accurate in-depth assessment, interpretation and evaluation of research outcomes.
• Contribute to teaching and mentoring of medical students and research PhD students where applicable.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Job Requirements

• PhD with at least 10 years of relevant experience as an accomplished researcher.
• Demonstrate excellence in research, with indications of sustainability over the long term, and consistent record of service with evidence of leadership.
• Achieve research accomplishment as evidenced by body of work established, quality and productivity, research impact, independence and leadership, as well as record of securing independent research funding.
• Capable in driving research initiatives and contributing to creative professional activities with evidence of leadership to the university and international community.
• Proven ability to work harmoniously in a team and to establish and maintain effective professional peer working relationships.
