Position Summary
The Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) Support Associate Engineer is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting CIM systems in a semiconductor production environment.
This role ensures seamless equipment-to-host communication, data integrity, and automation workflows while providing real-time support for manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
CIM System Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide real-time support for CIM-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime for production.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment integration, automation script, and resource/operation configuration in MES.
- Perform log analysis, database queries, and system debugging to identify root causes.
Manufacturing Execution System (MES) & Equipment Interface
- Support MES transactions and ensure seamless data flow between MES, Host, and Equipment.
- Work with SECS/GEM, MES interfaces for equipment communication.
- Monitor equipment data logs, alarms, and mapping consistency in the system.
Process Automation & System Enhancement
- Collaborate with process engineers, IT, and vendors to improve system stability and efficiency.
- Participate and support in software upgrades, patch deployment, and system validation activities.
Incident Management & Reporting
- Provide timely issue escalation, impact analysis, and resolution tracking.
- Maintain detailed incident logs, troubleshooting steps, and preventive action records.
- Prepare shift handover reports and communicate system health status.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields.
- Prior experience with CIM/ MES Systems (e.g., Camstar, PROMIS, FACTORYworks, Eyelit, etc).
- Familiarity with SECS/GEM, EDA, OPC, or other equipment communication protocols.
- Familiarity with RMS, SPC, Test system and Wafer map system.
- Experience in SEMI standards (E30, E37, E39, E40, E87, etc.).
- Experience in troubleshooting skills in SQL, Python, VB, Java, or shell scripting.
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes (frontend/backend).
- Fast problem-solving ability in a high-pressure production environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate across departments.
- Willing to work rotating shifts and provide on-call support when needed.
