About the job Assistant Manager/Manager (Talent Management & Engagement)

We are looking for a HR Assistant Manager/Manager for one of our global shipping clients. The incumbent will support the HR team in the full spectrum of HR responsibilities, namely talent management, learning and development, succession planning, performance management, employee engagement, and HR initiatives and projects as required.

Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition

  • Develop and implement effective talent acquisition strategies to attract, assess, and hire top-tier candidates
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and create job descriptions that accurately reflect the requirements of each position
  • Utilize various recruitment channels, including social media, job portals and professional networks, to source and connect with potential candidates
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection

Employee Onboarding

  • Design and oversee comprehensive onboarding programs to ensure a smooth transition for new hires
  • Facilitate orientation sessions to introduce new employees to the company culture, values, policies, and procedures
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate resources and training materials for onboarding programs

Employee Engagement

  • Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture
  • Conduct annual employee pulse surveys and feedback sessions to gauge employee satisfaction, identify areas for improvement, and implement action plans accordingly
  • Develop and maintain initiatives to enhance team collaboration, morale, and overall employee well-being

Performance Management

  • Implement and oversee performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback mechanisms
  • Work closely with leadership to identify high-potential employees and develop talent pipelines for key roles
  • Provide coaching and support to managers in addressing performance issues and developing performance improvement plans

Learning and Development

  • Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and design relevant learning and development programs
  • Facilitate or coordinate training sessions to enhance employees' skills and knowledge
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for continuous improvement

Succession Planning

  • Work closely with leadership to identify key positions and develop succession plans to ensure a pipeline of talent for critical roles
  • Develop and maintain a robust succession planning process to identify and nurture talent within the organization
  • Identify high-potential employees and implement development plans to prepare them for future leadership positions

  • Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives within the organization to create an equitable and inclusive workplace
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement strategies that promote diversity and inclusion at all levels

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition, learning and development, employee engagement, and performance management
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of similar experience in HR
  • Strong understanding of the employment market regulations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Hands-on, adaptable, and able to multi-task across a broad work portfolio
  • Driven and resourceful, with the ability to work independently
  • Must be steady and predictable in behaviour
  • High attention to detail
  • Continuously required to provide support and assist others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Times Software and SAP SuccessFactors
