Job description

What the role is:

The Social Support Group oversees the operations involved in providing support for lower-income and vulnerable individuals and families, to move them towards stability, self-reliance and social mobility. The Operations Data team under the Operations Planning Division in the Social Support Group oversees and leverages data to inform decision-making and enhance social service delivery.

What you will be working on:

• Use geospatial data to analyse operations/policy lines of inquiry and develop insights for application.
• Support the adoption and use of geospatial analytics across teams to inform decisions.
• Contribute towards making the geospatial data environment conducive for the Group’s needs.

Responsibilities:

• Execute geospatial projects, e.g., to guide how best to locate services and deploy case workers/volunteers to reach vulnerable client archetypes.
• Engage various teams to understand their geospatial needs and use cases, and guide their use of geospatial solutions where need be.
• Develop geospatial practices, e.g., geospatial data management and utilisation.

What we are looking for:

Functional & Technical competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Geospatial Science/Technology, Computer Sciences, Engineering or equivalent, or have relevant work experience.
• Knowledge in the use of geospatial software such as QGIS or ArcGIS.
• Knowledge in the use of geospatial analysis techniques and methodologies, e.g., proximity, hotspot, overlay and network analysis, and programming language, e.g., Python.

Generic competencies:

• Good interpersonal skills.
