Job summary

A leading construction recruiter in Singapore seeks an Assistant HSE Manager to develop safety policies and ensure compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate should have a relevant degree, at least 5 years of senior-level experience, and be a Registered WSHO. Our esteemed client in the Construction industry is seeking an Assistant HSE Manager to join their dynamic team:

  • Employment Type: Permanent
  • Position: Assistant HSE Manager
  • Location: Islandwide
  • Working Hours: 5.5 days, Office Hours
  • Salary Package: Basic + Bonus
Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and site-specific safety plans in compliance with all local regulations and corporate standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards; track corrective and preventive actions to closure.
  • Lead incident and accident investigations, performing root cause analysis and preparing detailed reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Facilitate safety training, toolbox meetings, and briefings to enhance awareness and foster a proactive safety culture among all employees and subcontractors.
  • Liaise with project teams, site personnel, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental management practices, including waste management and pollution control.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all documentation, including permits, licenses, certifications, and reports.
  • Support the preparation of monthly EHS reports, performance metrics (KPIs), and materials for management reviews.
  • Stay current on new and evolving legislation, industry best practices, and regulatory changes.
Job Requirements:
  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience at a managerial or senior officer level, preferably within the construction or heavy industry sector.
  • Must be a Registered WSHO and ECO.
  • In-depth knowledge of local EHS regulations, construction safety codes, and audit processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS management software.
  • Able to start immediately or in short notice.
