Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise daily air traffic operations to ensure safe separation of aircraft and efficient traffic flow.
• Monitor airspace capacity, runway utilization, weather conditions, and traffic demand to prevent delays and congestion.
• Ensure air traffic operations comply with national and international aviation regulations.
• Implement safety management systems and conduct risk assessments.
• Coordinate closely with air traffic controllers, pilots, and emergency services.
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate air traffic operations staff.
• Oversee the use and performance of air traffic management systems.
• Manage complex operational situations such as severe weather and equipment failures.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Oversight
  • Direct and supervise daily air traffic operations to ensure safe separation of aircraft and efficient traffic flow.
  • Monitor airspace capacity, runway utilization, weather conditions, and traffic demand to prevent delays and congestion.
• Safety & Compliance Management
  • Ensure all air traffic operations comply with national and international aviation regulations, standards, and procedures.
  • Implement safety management systems (SMS), conduct risk assessments, and lead incident investigation and corrective actions.
• Coordination & Communication
  • Coordinate closely with air traffic controllers, pilots, airport authorities, ground handling teams, emergency services, and regulatory bodies.
  • Act as the primary decision-maker during abnormal operations, emergencies, or system disruptions.
• Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate air traffic operations staff to maintain high performance, discipline, and professionalism.
  • Oversee staffing levels, shift planning, training requirements, and competency standards.
• Technology & Systems Management
  • Oversee the use and performance of air traffic management systems, surveillance tools, and communication technologies.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, procedures, and best practices to improve operational efficiency and safety.
• Crisis & Contingency Handling
  • Manage complex operational situations such as severe weather, equipment failures, airspace restrictions, or emergency landings.
  • Develop, test, and execute contingency and emergency response plans.
• Continuous Improvement
  • Analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend and implement procedural enhancements to optimize safety, capacity, and service quality.
