The role involves overseeing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and managing intercompany transactions. Qualifications

Job Responsibilities- Accountant

Regional Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Financial Statement Preparation: Overseeing and ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of monthly annual financial statements for Singapore and Malaysia, in compliance with relevant Singapore and Malaysian accounting principles.
  • Variance Analysis: Conducting detailed analysis of financial results against budget and forecasts, explaining significant variances.
  • General Accounting and Operations Management
  • Month-End/Year-End Close: Leading or significantly contributing to the month-end and year-end closing processes for 3 Singapore and 1 Malaysian entities.
  • General Ledger (GL) Management: Managing GL activities, including preparing journal entries (e.g payroll, ROU etc), and ensuring the integrity of all financial data.
  • Reconciliations: Performing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., bank accounts, intercompany accounts, fixed assets).
  • Intercompany Transactions: Managing and reconciling intercompany transactions and balances across different regional subsidiaries.
  • Inventory accounting and reconciliation including working with freight forwarder. Some basic knowledge of incoterms and shipping terms.
  • Invoicing
  • AR Management - ensuring all outstandings are kept current by email / calling customers for payments.
  • AP – payment of invoices.
  • Cashflow management – monitoring bank balances and working closely with factoring company.
  • Project costing and variance reporting.
  • Compliance, Tax, and Audit.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that all financial records and reporting comply with local statutory regulations, tax laws, and industry-specific requirements within the region.
  • Internal Controls: Developing, implementing, and monitoring strong internal controls and accounting policies across the region to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Audit Coordination: Acting as a key contact and liaison for external and internal auditors for the region, preparing audit schedules, and providing necessary documentation.
  • Tax Support: coordinating the timely and accurate submission of tax filings (e.g GST, Corporate Tax, Service Tax).

Requirements

  • At least 5 years' experience in handling the above functions and full setof accounts in commercial sector.
  • Good knowledge in Singapore & Malaysian Corporate Tax, Financial Reporting Standards, GST, Tax Laws and corporate secretarial matters.
  • Hands-on experience in project costing will be an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills, attentive to detail with the ability to meet tight reporting deadlines in a multitasking environment.
  • Strong leadership, effective team player, highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Hands-on experience with Quickbooks.
  • Open to Singaporeans, PR and Malaysians.
