Responsibilities
  • Navigate a geographic territory focused on Financial Services, primarily a greenfield opportunity to expand our presence within Financial Services.
  • Execute top‑of‑funnel marketing activity & prospecting while effectively managing a complex sales cycle (approximately 6–9 months) to a successful close.
  • Lead the territory and pod, crafting, refining, and executing on territory and account strategies.
  • Operate with urgency, diligence, and determination within a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Align customer goals and KPIs to the Appian value proposition, helping customers accelerate their objectives.
  • Leverage internal resources within the larger sales organization, working cross‑functionally with the Customer Success (Professional Services) team and externally across customer and partner ecosystems.
  • Present client discovery, communicate ROI, and build business value in in‑person and virtual presentations to senior LOB & IT audiences.
  • Position Appian against competitors by actively understanding industry trends.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to both customers and colleagues, leveraging multiple stakeholders throughout complex deals.
  • Demonstrate strategic and focused mindset, clearly communicating and leading this vision internally and externally.
Qualifications
  • 10–15+ years of direct selling experience with a minimum of 5 years in Financial Services as an Enterprise Account Executive, selling complex technologies at the enterprise level.
  • History of consistent quota achievement.
  • Examples of landing new customer logos.
  • Strong existing relationships within the industry, including key partners.
  • Strong industry network within customer and partner base.
  • Strong job tenure: history of displaying loyalty and perseverance through long, stable job tenure and positive career trajectory.
