Job summary

Wood is seeking a senior Process Safety Major Hazards SME to serve as the Technical Authority across its energy, oil & gas, mining, industrial and infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia.

You will lead technical assurance for process safety, mentor engineers, and oversee reviews from concept through detailed design, ensuring compliance with IEC 61511 and Saudi standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• Chartered Engineer/Professional Engineer status preferred.
• Minimum 20 years in Oil & Gas, Energy, Petrochemical or Industrial projects.
• Experience as Technical Authority, Chief Engineer, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical assurance for process safety and major accident hazard management.
• Act as Technical Authority across multiple projects.
• Lead technical reviews during Concept, FEED and Detailed Design.

We are seeking a Process Safety Major Hazards SME to serve as the Technical Authority across our portfolio of energy oil amp gas mining industrial and infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia

Role Purpose

Lead technical assurance for process safety and major accident hazard management Act as the Technical Authority across multiple projects Lead technical reviews during Concept FEED and Detailed Design Perform independent design assurance and peer reviews Resolve complex engineering challenges and provide specialist guidance Support proposals client workshops and business development Mentor young engineers and develop technical capability of the THSE team Develop and maintain engineering standards and best practices

What We’re Looking For

A recognized industry expert with a proven track record of solving complex engineering challenges, influencing clients, mentoring engineering teams and driving technical excellence across major international projects.

• Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in the relevant Engineering discipline. Chartered Engineer/Professional Engineer status is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 20 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Petrochemical, or Industrial projects. Proven experience as a Technical Authority, Chief Engineer, Principal Consultant, Engineering Fellow or equivalent.
• Technical Expertise: HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, QRA, consequence modelling, ALARP, IEC 61511.
• Knowledge of Standards: IEC, OSHA, Saudi Aramco standards.
