Job summary

KBR in Saudi Arabia seeks a Lead Process Safety Engineer for offshore projects to guide process safety from concept through detailed design of medium to large ventures. You will own safety engineering deliverables, set technical direction, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure compliance with international standards and client requirements.

The role requires over 15 years in oil & gas or related sectors, strong communication, and proven ability to lead workshops

Responsibilities

• Lead/co-ordinate Safety Engineering within the project to improve efficiency and quality.
• Develop and check calculations, data sheets, requisitions, specifications and drawings.
• Facilitate workshops such as PHA, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL & LOPA and follow up on recommendations.
• Provide technical leadership to apply client, KBR and international procedures consistently.
• Ensure integration with other engineers, designers and technical staff.
• Familiarity with Saudi Aramco standards and NFPA requirements is desirable.

Lead Process Safety Engineer (Offshore)

Lead Process Safety Engineer with proven experience in the Offshore design of process safety related actives in projects from conceptual stage through detailed design of medium to large size projects. Thorough knowledge of projects/ process safety, engineering practices, economics principles, calculation methods, international standards, codes, specifications, and procedures. Minimum 15 years’ experience in Oil & Gas, Hydrocarbons, and/or Infrastructure industries. Excellent communication skills required.

Responsibilities

Has demonstrated experience in Process Safety. Knowledge of project engineering practices, international codes, standards, procedures, and specifications. Developing and checking of calculations, data sheets, technical notes, requisitions, specifications, drawings and similar deliverables produced within Discipline. Act as a single focal point of contact for leading/coordinating, planning, supervising the Safety Engineering assigned in the project to ensure improvement in efficiency and quality of work performed. Conduct, organize and lead/facilitate Workshop such as PHA, HAZID, , HAZOP, SIL & LOPA, etc. and follow-up up with the recommendation/findings. Sufficient knowledge of HAZIP and HAZOP workshops, hazard and risk management, fire and explosion analysis (dispersion analysis), fire protection related studies, formal safety assessments, compartmentation and emergency evacuation routes, design safety reviews/studies, layout, F&G and hazardous area, also active and passive fire protection design. Complete integration with other team members: engineers, designers, and technical personnel in the execution of the project Familiar with applicable regulations, codes and standards. GCC experience particularly Saudi Aramco experience will be preferred. Work independently and create a positive work environment. Experience with firewater demand calculations and equipment requirements, industrial drainage design and equipment, familiarity with the associated Saudi Aramco standards and NFPA requirements are desirable. Provide technical leadership to ensure that applicable procedures and standards (client, KBR and international) are correctly applied. Must be proficient in English, oral and written. Excellent technical presentation skills required.

Qualifications & Years Of Experience

Bachelor's degree in Process Safety 15 years’ experience in Offshore Process Safety Candidates must hold an Engineering Degree Qualification or equivalent from a government recognized institution.
