Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in materials management or procurement.
• Graduate degree such as BCom, BTech or BE; specialization in materials preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and API quality requirements.
• Strong documentation and SOP adherence.

Responsibilities

• Ensure procurement of consumables, stores and spares at the right time and with the right quality.
• Ensure services are available to the plant to ensure smooth operation.
• Maintain documentation for all vendor transactions.
• Maintain documents per SOPs.
• GRN preparation, physical verification, tagging, and ensuring materials availability.
• Follow up GRN and invoices per the defined material procurement procedure SOP.
• Support continual improvement and quality management system implementation.
• Guide and support the team in quality initiatives.

Job description

Job Purpose

To ensure effective and efficient management of the raw material section for stores and inventory management

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure procurement of consumables, stores and spares at the right time and with the right quality
• Ensure services are made available to the plant to ensure smooth operation
• Ensure proper documentation is completed for all transactions with vendors
• Ensure that all documents are maintained in line with standard operating procedures
• Handle day-to-day activities including floating requirements, GRN preparation, physical verification, identification tagging and ensuring materials are available in the plant
• Follow up for GRN and invoices and ensure materials are procured as per the defined material procurement procedure SOP
• Ensure that quality requirements conform to ISO 9001, API and applicable requirements
• Communicate the importance of effective quality management and ensure quality management system requirements are implemented
• Ensure effectiveness of processes and continual improvement through defined actions
• Guide, direct and support the team to contribute to the effectiveness of the quality management system
• Support training and maintenance of Quality Objectives as part of continual improvement
• Plan and implement developmental projects to enhance the capability and efficiency of personnel within the control function
• Identify training needs for respective staff and support initiatives to enhance their skills
• Identify, recommend and approve suitable technical training programs for employees
• Identify existing deficiencies and future skill requirements and recommend developmental programs for identified individuals

Education & Experience

Any Graduate - BCom, BTech, BE preferably in Material Management or equivalent experience skills to perform the role; Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
