Job summary

SD (Middle East) LLC is seeking a Sr. Planning Engineer in KSA to lead detailed project schedules, baselines, and critical path analyses for large-scale airport projects.

You will coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning teams, monitor progress weekly, and deliver dashboards, S-curves, and EOT insights.

The role also involves mentoring junior planners, promoting planning standards, and presenting risks and corrective actions during project reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, electrical, construction engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of planning and project controls experience in large-scale infrastructure, EPC, airport, BHS or MHS projects.
• Advanced expertise in Primavera P6; knowledge of MS Project and Power BI preferred.
• Strong scheduling, baseline planning, delay analysis and EOT preparation skills.
• Experience in management reporting, dashboards, S-curves, histograms and presentations.
• Proven leadership and ability to mentor junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, including WBS, milestones, baselines and critical path.
• Coordinate schedules with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning teams.
• Monitor progress weekly/monthly and update schedules accordingly.
• Prepare progress reports, dashboards, S-curves, histograms, earned value analysis and look-ahead schedules.
• Identify risks, delays, and slippages; recommend mitigation and recovery plans.
• Review subcontractor schedules and monitor performance against approved programmes.
• Analyze delays and support EOT and delay analysis requirements.
• Support tender planning by preparing bid schedules and resource-loaded programmes.
• Present schedule performance, risks and corrective actions in project review meetings.
• Mentor Planning Engineers and Coordinators; ensure accuracy and quality of planning deliverables.
• Promote consistent planning standards and continuous improvement across projects.

• Mentor Planning Engineers and Coordinators and review their planning deliverables for accuracy and quality.
• Promote consistent planning standards, reporting methods, and continuous improvement across projects.

What do I need to qualify for the role?

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10 + years of experience in planning and project controls, preferably in large-scale infrastructure, EPC, airport, BHS, or MHS projects.
• Advanced expertise in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Microsoft Project and Power BI is preferred.
• Strong experience in baseline scheduling, resource planning, critical path analysis, delay analysis, EOT preparation, and schedule optimization.
• Experience preparing management reports, dashboards, S-curves, histograms, and project presentations.
• Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to mentor junior planning team members and work effectively in multicultural, multidisciplinary environments.
