Job summary

SGS is seeking an experienced inspector to lead mechanical inspections of pressure vessels, storage tanks, and piping systems in Saudi Arabia. You will conduct CSWIP 3.2-based welding inspections, review fabrication and maintenance procedures, and generate detailed reports with NCRs and corrective actions.

The role requires a B.S. in engineering (or an 18-year diploma with extensive experience) and relevant API certifications.

Qualifications

• B.S degree in Engineering in a respective inspection discipline with 10+ years of experience OR 18 years industrial/technical college diploma plus 8+ years of experience.
• CSWIP 3.2 or AWS SCWI certifications are mandatory.
• API 510 and API 653 certifications are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of applicable international standards and quality system methods.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive inspections of pressure vessels, storage tanks, piping systems, and mechanical components to ensure compliance with project specs and codes.
• Perform welding inspections per CSWIP 3.2 standards including visual, dimensional checks, and defect identification.
• Inspect in-service vessels and tanks per API 510 and API 653.
• Review fabrication, erection and maintenance procedures for conformity with drawings and standards.
• Prepare inspection reports, NCRs, and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Coordinate with project engineers, QA/QC teams, and contractors to resolve issues.

Job Description

• Conduct comprehensive inspections of pressure vessels, storage tanks, piping systems, and mechanical components to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
• Perform welding inspections in accordance withCSWIP 3.2standards, including visual inspections, dimensional checks, and defect identification.
• Conduct in-service inspection, assessment, and certification of pressure vessels (API 510) and storage tanks (API 653).
• Review fabrication, erection, and maintenance procedures for compliance with engineering drawings and standards.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Coordinate with project engineers, QA/QC teams, and contractors to ensure timely and effective resolution of inspection issues.
• Mentor and guide junior inspectors to enhance inspection quality and compliance awareness.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, codes, and best practices relevant to oil and gas mechanical inspections.

Qualifications

• B.S degree in Engineering in a respective inspection discipline with at least 10years of experience in relevant inspection discipline. OR 18 years industrial/technical College Diploma plus a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant inspection experience.
• AWS SCWI OR CSWIP 3.2 certifications are Mandatory
• API 510 & API 653 certifications are preferred
• Demonstrated thorough knowledge of applicable international standards.
• Demonstrated full working knowledge of quality system standards and methods
