Job summary

SGS, a global Testing, Inspection and Certification leader, seeks an experienced Inspector in Saudi Arabia to perform Hold, Witness and Surveillance inspections at facilities and sites to ensure SAUDI ARAMCO compliance. You will review submittals, monitor contractor QA, and document non-conformances with detailed reports.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S. in Engineering or a two-year diploma with extensive inspection experience, plus AWS CWI or CSWIP certification and API knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering with ≥4 years of inspection experience, or 2-year diploma with ≥8 years in inspection.
• Certification required: AWS CWI or CSWIP Welding Inspector.
• Thorough knowledge of applicable international standards (API 653, API 510).

Responsibilities

• Perform Hold, Witness and Surveillance inspections at factories or sites to meet Saudi Aramco specs.
• Inspect materials and equipment for proper handling, storage and protection per Saudi Aramco rules.
• Monitor Contractor quality systems, records and personnel for compliance.
• Review contractor quality submittals and witness tests on- and off-site.
• Write NCRs, worksheets, EDRs and inspection reports; report findings for early resolution.

Job Description

• Perform “Hold”, “Witness” and “Surveillance” inspections and tests at manufacturing facilities or construction sites to ensure compliance with SAUDI ARAMCO requirements and project specifications.
• Inspect material and equipment as applicable to ensure compliance with SAUDI ARAMCO requirements for proper handling, storage and protection at SAUDI ARAMCO facilities and/or construction sites.
• Monitor Contractor’s Quality Systems, records and Quality Personnel for compliance with requirements.
• Review and evaluate the Contractor’s Quality document submittals.
• Witness on-site and off-site material and installations tests for compliance with SAUDI ARAMCO standards.
• Record legibly and accurately all controversial and non-complying construction practices, materials and equipment and report to supervisor detailed potential problems for early resolution.
• Write inspection reports and initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Worksheets (WSs) and Equipment Deficiency Report (EDRs) as needed.
• To do work as planned and scheduled with a better professional approach and to report the findings in the required format.
• To work safely during inspection activities and to advise others to work safely.
• To maintain the confidentiality requirements in each activity during the service period.

Qualifications

• B.S degree in Engineering in a respective inspection discipline with at least four (4) years of experience in the relevant inspection discipline. OR two (2) years of industrial/technical College Diploma plus a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant inspection experience.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)orCSWIP Welding Inspector Certification required.
• Demonstrated thorough knowledge of applicable international standards (Knowledge on API 653, 510)
