Job summary

SGS is seeking a Senior Mechanical Inspector in Saudi Arabia to lead comprehensive inspections of pressure vessels, tanks, piping, and components in accordance with project specs and industry standards.

The role requires CSWIP 3.2 and API 570 certifications, a mechanical engineering degree or equivalent diploma with extensive experience, and a valid Saudi driving license. You will mentor junior inspectors and ensure timely NCRs and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of inspection experience; OR 2-year Diploma with a minimum of 12 years.
• Mandatory CSWIP 3.2 and API 570 certifications; both compulsory.
• Valid Saudi driving license is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive inspections of pressure vessels, storage tanks, piping systems, and mechanical components to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes and standards.
• Perform welding inspections in accordance with CSWIP 3.2 standards, including visual inspections, dimensional checks, and defect identification.
• Review fabrication, erection, and maintenance procedures for compliance with engineering drawings and standards.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports, NCRs, and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Coordinate with project engineers, QA/QC teams, and contractors for timely resolution of inspection issues.

Job Description

• Conduct comprehensive inspections of pressure vessels, storage tanks, piping systems, and mechanical components to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
• Perform welding inspections in accordance withCSWIP 3.2standards, including visual inspections, dimensional checks, and defect identification.
• Conduct in-service inspection, assessment, and certification of pressure vessels (API 510) and storage tanks (API 653).
• Review fabrication, erection, and maintenance procedures for compliance with engineering drawings and standards.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Coordinate with project engineers, QA/QC teams, and contractors to ensure timely and effective resolution of inspection issues.
• Mentor and guide junior inspectors to enhance inspection quality and compliance awareness.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, codes, and best practices relevant to oil and gas mechanical inspections.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of inspection experience; OR 2-year Industrial/Technical College Diploma with a minimum of 12 years of inspection experience.

Mandatory Certifications: Valid CSWIP 3.2 and API 570 certifications. Both certifications are compulsory.

Driving Licence: Valid Saudi driving licence is mandatory.
