Job summary

WSP in the Middle East invites a Senior Traffic Subject Matter Expert to lead traffic engineering for a major Riyadh project. You will supervise all traffic management design, coordinate with authorities, and ensure safe, minimal-disruption operations during construction and handover.

The role requires 15+ years in traffic engineering (5+ in SME), mastery of AutoCAD, Synchro, SIDRA, and VISSIM, and fluent English. You will mentor staff and present technical briefings to project stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years in traffic engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior/SME role.
• Experience on large-scale infrastructure or transport projects in KSA or GCC.
• Strong knowledge of MOT, Riyadh Municipality, and Royal Commission standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Synchro, SIDRA, VISSIM, or similar tools.
• Excellent written and verbal English; Arabic a plus.
• Experience coordinating with public sector authorities and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead review and supervision of traffic management plans and detour strategies.
• Ensure designs comply with local standards and international best practices.
• Coordinate with municipal authorities, contractors, and traffic enforcement.
• Monitor on-site implementation of traffic control measures for safety.
• Identify and mitigate traffic-related risks across project zones.
• Provide guidance on traffic flow optimization and congestion reduction.
• Develop incident response plans and maintain emergency access routes.
• Mentor junior staff and build project capacity.
• Prepare technical reports and briefings for stakeholders.
