Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer - Construction to lead health, safety, and risk guidance across Riyadh worksites. You will support project managers, perform audits, inspections, and investigations, and ensure compliance with ESHARP and regulatory standards, guiding safety culture across multicultural teams.

Ideal candidate has 6–10 years of SH&E experience, a relevant degree, and strong knowledge of ANSI/NFPA standards, incident investigations, and training delivery to contractors

Qualifications

  • Saudi National candidate.
  • 6–10 years of professional Health, Safety, and Environmental or SH&E experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related discipline.
  • Experience supporting major infrastructure, construction, industrial, or programme management projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, reporting requirements, risk controls, and compliance practices.
  • Strong knowledge of ANSI, NFPA, and other recognized industry safety standards.
  • Experience conducting safety audits, site inspections, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Ability to prepare inspection and incident reports and safety performance documentation.

  • Perform site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, and high-risk activities.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis using recognized methodologies.
  • Develop corrective and preventive actions in coordination with project teams and safety personnel.

Role Context

Senior Safety Engineer will support project managers, programme managers, and site teams by providing practical health, safety, environmental, and risk guidance across construction worksites. This position helps ensure that Parsons safety policies, ESHARP requirements, regulatory standards, risk controls, incident reporting processes, and training activities are implemented consistently. The role is important for identifying hazards early, improving safety performance, supporting investigations, and promoting a strong safety culture across multicultural project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise and assist project managers, programme managers, and project personnel in implementing Parsons Environmental, Safety, Health, and Risk Program requirements.
  • Support implementation of safety policies, procedures, worksite controls, reporting requirements, and project-specific safety processes.
  • Conduct audits of projects and worksites against corporate safety standards, client requirements, regulatory obligations, and recognized industry practices.
  • Perform site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, and work activities requiring stronger controls.
  • Provide recommendations to eliminate hazards or control safety risks across construction and infrastructure project activities.
  • Prepare and submit audit reports, inspection reports, safety observations, action trackers, and follow-up documentation.
  • Implement occupational injury and incident reporting processes in line with company requirements.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis using recognized investigation methodologies.
  • Develop corrective and preventive actions in coordination with project teams, contractors, supervisors, and safety personnel.
  • Prepare comprehensive incident investigation reports, lessons learned documents, and improvement recommendations.
  • Analyze trends from audits, inspections, incident reports, near misses, and safety observations to identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit periodic safety performance reports for project and programme leadership.
  • Represent Parsons during regulatory inspections, client audits, loss-control reviews, and project safety assessments.
  • Act as the site SH&E representative on project locations when required.
  • Support risk assessments, work planning activities, method reviews, and pre-task planning by providing safety expertise.
  • Assist with new hire safety orientations, onboarding programmes, and project safety induction activities.
  • Deliver regulatory and best-practice safety training programmes for employees, contractors, and project personnel.
  • Maintain safety training records, attendance logs, training materials, and supporting documentation.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, project safety meetings, coordination sessions, and safety awareness activities.
  • Promote positive safety behavior, open reporting, continuous improvement, and proactive risk management across project activities.
  • Support behavior-based safety initiatives and coaching activities to strengthen frontline safety performance.
  • Perform additional safety, health, environmental, and risk management responsibilities as required by the project.
Ideal Profile
  • Saudi National candidate.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Equivalent professional safety experience may be considered.
  • 6-10 years of professional Health, Safety, and Environmental or SH&E experience.
