Job summary

Parsons Corporation in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer - MEP Design to lead design reviews and coordinate HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection across major infrastructure and building projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers is mandatory.

  • Strong experience in design review, construction supervision, and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Solid knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and building management systems.
  • Good working knowledge of Saudi Building Code requirements and international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, ASPE).
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit BIM, HVAC load calculation software, and related documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review mechanical drawings, calculations, specs, shop drawings for compliance.
  • Evaluate HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and BMS designs.
  • Monitor on-site contractor work and conduct inspections.
  • Identify installation issues and coordinate interfaces.
  • Coordinate with architecture, structure, electrical, and project teams.
  • Review submittals, method statements, RFIs, and equipment documentation.
  • Support equipment selection reviews, system layouts, and sequencing.
  • Participate in testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • Prepare progress reports and engineering logs.
  • Interface with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities.
  • Apply SBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, and ASPE standards.
  • Promote safe, quality delivery across project packages.

Role Context

The Senior Mechanical Engineer - MEP Design will help ensure that mechanical systems across major developments in Tabuk are technically sound, coordinated, safe, and ready for construction and handover. The position supports the full project cycle from design review and contractor document evaluation through site inspection, testing, commissioning, and client coordination. Strong technical judgment is required to resolve interfaces between mechanical, architectural, civil, and electrical disciplines while maintaining quality and project momentum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review mechanical engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, shop drawings, and design deliverables for compliance with project requirements.
  • Evaluate HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and building management system designs before and during construction execution.
  • Monitor contractor work on site and conduct technical inspections to confirm alignment with approved drawings and quality standards.
  • Identify installation issues, design conflicts, site constraints, and technical deviations requiring corrective action.
  • Coordinate with architectural, civil, structural, electrical, construction, quality, and project management teams to resolve multidisciplinary interfaces.
  • Review contractor material submittals, method statements, RFIs, technical proposals, and equipment documentation.
  • Support mechanical equipment selection reviews, system layouts, utility interfaces, and installation sequencing discussions.
  • Participate in testing and commissioning activities for mechanical systems, equipment, controls, and related building services.
  • Assist project teams with progress reports, milestone tracking, inspection records, technical comments, and engineering review logs.
  • Interface with clients, consultants, contractors, and local utility authorities when mechanical engineering input is required.
  • Apply Saudi Building Code requirements, ASHRAE standards, NFPA guidance, ASPE practices, and relevant international codes.
  • Promote safe, coordinated, and quality-focused mechanical engineering delivery across assigned project packages.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers is mandatory.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional mechanical engineering experience.
  • Strong experience in design review, construction supervision, technical coordination, or site engineering for infrastructure and building projects.
