Job summary

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer focused on Piping Systems in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. You will oversee design review, site installation, equipment selection, testing, and commissioning of critical mechanical infrastructure within a major development program.

Role requires 7+ years in mechanical engineering, strong piping/HVAC experience, and proficiency with Caesar II, Pipenet, AutoCAD, or Revit. Travel and relocation to Tabuk are expected.

  • Strong experience with piping systems, HVAC, ducting, pumping stations, or mechanical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Review mechanical drawings, design calculations, technical specifications, equipment schedules, and system layouts.
  • Evaluate piping networks, pumping-station configurations, HVAC systems, ducting arrangements, and hydraulic profiles.
  • Confirm compliance with ASME, ASHRAE, approved project criteria, and client engineering requirements.
  • Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical queries.
  • Identify design clashes, constructability concerns, access restrictions, and maintenance issues before installation.
  • Verify pipe sizing, pressure losses, flow rates, pump duties, system capacities, and hydraulic performance.
  • Review piping stress analysis, pipe supports, anchors, guides, expansion requirements, and equipment connections.
  • Check duct sizing, airflow calculations, static pressure, ventilation rates, and air-distribution performance.
  • Supervise the installation of pipes, pumps, valves, fittings, supports, ductwork, and HVAC equipment.
  • Inspect mechanical installations for alignment, workmanship, accessibility, material compliance, and approved configuration.
  • Coordinate pipe routes, ductwork, equipment foundations, electrical connections, structural openings, and service access.
  • Resolve technical interfaces with civil, electrical, structural, architectural, and instrumentation disciplines.
  • Evaluate procurement bids for pumps, valves, piping materials, HVAC equipment, and mechanical accessories.
  • Review vendor drawings, data sheets, performance curves, certificates, deviations, and compliance schedules.
  • Participate in technical clarification meetings, vendor reviews, equipment inspections, and factory acceptance tests.
  • Witness hydrostatic or pneumatic pressure testing and confirm test limits, procedures, and acceptance results.
  • Monitor pipe flushing, cleaning, disinfection, leak testing, and system reinstatement.
  • Witness duct leakage tests, air balancing, airflow measurement, and HVAC functional testing.
  • Verify pump alignment, vibration, pressure, flow, efficiency, and operational performance.
  • Support pre‑commissioning, start‑up, troubleshooting, performance testing, and system acceptance.
  • Prepare technical comments, inspection reports, commissioning records, and progress updates.
  • Review as‑built drawings, operating manuals, test certificates, spare‑parts records, and handover documentation.
  • Promote safe working practices involving pressure systems, lifting operations, confined spaces, and rotating machinery.

Job Overview

Mechanical Engineer – Piping Systems in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia is a Mechanical or Industrial Engineering opportunity supporting the design review, site installation, equipment selection, testing, and commissioning of critical mechanical infrastructure. Parsons Corporation is hiring an experienced engineer to manage piping networks, HVAC and ducting systems, pumps, valves, and hydraulic equipment for a major development program.

Estimated Salary Range: 18,000–28,000 SAR (local currency). Final offer to be confirmed by the employer.

Role Context

Provide technical oversight from design validation and procurement through construction, commissioning, and handover. Ensure that piping, pumping, ventilation, and HVAC systems meet project performance requirements, approved specifications, international codes, and client expectations. Work closely with civil, electrical, structural, construction, procurement, and commissioning teams. Early resolution of technical conflicts and accurate verification of system performance will reduce field changes, protect project schedule, and improve long‑term asset reliability.

  • Proven involvement in infrastructure, utilities, industrial facilities, or large construction programs.
  • Sound knowledge of fluid mechanics, pump hydraulics, pressure losses, and mechanical system design.
  • Practical understanding of pipe stress, supports, expansion, equipment connections, and hydraulic behavior.
  • Ability to assess duct static pressure, airflow requirements, ventilation design, and HVAC performance.
  • Working knowledge of ASME, ASHRAE, and related international engineering standards.
  • Experience reviewing shop drawings, specifications, vendor submissions, and construction method statements.
  • Proficiency with Caesar II, Pipenet, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar engineering applications is preferred.
  • Strong site inspection, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting capability.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, consultants, vendors, clients, and engineering disciplines.
  • Willingness to relocate to and work full‑time in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.
  • Professional Engineer or Chartered Engineer status is advantageous.
  • Previous Saudi Arabian or GCC infrastructure experience is preferred.
  • Experience on NEOM, Red Sea, or comparable giga‑project developments would be valuable.
