We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team for our road project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 8-10 years of mechanical design experience in major infrastructure, transportation, highway, or urban development projects.
- Proven experience in water networks, sewerage systems, stormwater drainage, irrigation systems, firefighting networks, and pumping stations.
- Strong knowledge of international design standards and codes such as NFPA, AWWA, ASHRAE, ASME, and relevant Saudi regulations.
- Proficiency in hydraulic design and engineering software such as WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
- Experience in multidisciplinary design coordination and BIM environments.
- Strong understanding of design review processes, technical documentation, and project delivery requirements.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
- Previous Middle East and Saudi Arabia project experience is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and coordination of mechanical systems for large-scale road and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and review detailed engineering designs, calculations, technical specifications, BOQs, and construction drawings.
- Design and coordinate potable water, irrigation, stormwater drainage, sewerage, firefighting, and pumping station systems.
- Ensure mechanical designs comply with project requirements, international codes, Saudi regulations, and client specifications.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and system sizing for pipelines, pumping systems, storage tanks, and associated infrastructure facilities.
- Coordinate utility interfaces with civil, structural, electrical, and road design disciplines.
- Review and approve technical submissions, shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals from consultants and contractors.
- Support value engineering studies to optimize project costs, constructability, and operational efficiency.
- Provide engineering support during construction, testing, commissioning, and handover phases.
- Participate in technical meetings with clients, consultants, authorities, and project stakeholders.
- Ensure BIM coordination and clash detection activities are completed in line with project requirements.
