Dar Al Riyadh Group in Riyadh seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer with power and low‑voltage specialization to lead design reviews, prepare scopes, and coordinate with the utility and authorities on interconnection projects.

The candidate should have 15 years of experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Saudi Council of Engineers registration, and strong skills in ETAP and AutoCAD, with English proficiency preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised university.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
  • Valid Saudi Council of Engineers registration is required.
  • Hands-on experience in electrical design and grid-interconnection projects.
  • Proficiency in ETAP and AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, and earthing.

  • Prepare and review electrical scopes of work, design criteria, technical specifications, and employer requirements.
  • Review electrical designs prepared by consultants, including single-line diagrams, load schedules, and engineering calculations.
  • Review load-flow, short-circuit, protection-coordination, cable-sizing, voltage-drop, and earthing studies.
  • Lead the technical review and follow-up of electrical grid-interconnection projects.
  • Review incoming power supplies, substations, MV feeders, RMUs, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and utility-metering interfaces.
  • Coordinate with Saudi Electricity Company and other authorities on connection requirements, design approvals, protection settings, interfaces, and energisation.
  • Review technical submittals, shop drawings, equipment selections, Bills of Quantities, and proposed design modifications.
  • Review power-distribution and low-voltage systems to ensure capacity, selectivity, reliability, and safety.
  • Provide technical support during design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and energisation.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces between the utility provider, consultant, contractor, and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor design progress and ensure the timely closure of technical comments and outstanding approvals.
  • Resolve electrical design, connection, protection, and system-interface issues.
  • Ensure designs comply with Saudi regulations, SEC requirements, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, NEC, and applicable international standards.
  • Prepare technical reports, review comments, design-risk registers, and engineering recommendations.

  • Practical experience coordinating electrical connections with SEC or another major Saudi utility provider is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in engineering consultancy, design review, owner‑side technical support, or an engineering design department is preferred.
  • Proficiency in ETAP and AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit or other relevant electrical design tools is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of SEC requirements, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, NEC, and relevant Saudi regulations.
  • Strong technical‑reporting, communication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Good written and spoken English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
